Build the business behind your photography.

A membership for portrait and headshot photographers. Price with confidence, market with a plan, and run a studio that holds together. You do the work. You never do it alone.

Big photography forums and multi-person workshops give you generic advice that doesn't fit your specific market, pricing, or style. If you want to actually scale your studio, you need intimate, high-impact spaces: 1-on-1 sessions to ruthlessly audit your booking funnel/or systems 2-on-1 peer labs to stress-test your pricing model against your own costs and market, and micro-cohorts (under 6 people) for brutally honest site.portfolio tear-downs and luxury positioning strategy. BRAIN STORMING Stop wasting time wading through a sea of conflicting opinions online; get in a small room, dissect your actual numbers, and build a concrete execution plan. If you Build a strong Foundation you will grow from it!!!

About us

Meet Nina & Christy

Nina Pomeroy

Nina Pomeroy came to photography from 16 years in investment banking technology on Wall Street, so she built her studio like a business from the start. Over 26 years she grew from her first studio in Connecticut to a luxury headshot and portrait studio in Pleasanton, California, with 500+ five-star reviews and a book on personal branding.

Christy Bell, CPP

Christy Bell, CPP spent three decades in corporate business leadership and professional recruiting before turning her talents to photography. Over 15+ years she grew Artist Circle Studio into a premier luxury brand in the Washington, D.C. metro region, building a highly profitable business photographing thousands of professionals.

Christy Bell and Nina Pomeroy built the Photographers Business Circle because they kept seeing the same thing: talented photographers closing their studios within a few years, not for lack of skill but because no one taught them the business behind the camera. Together they created the Circle to help photographers run their studios with the clarity and confidence to keep their doors open.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

A clear, honest guide to how the Circle works, who it's for, and what you can expect as a member.

What is the Photographers Business Circle?
The Circle is a monthly business-building membership for photographers who want to examine their business with intention, strengthen their foundation, and implement ongoing best practices. It's not about gear or camera settings — it's about running a profitable, confident, sustainable photography business.
Who is this for?
Photographers at any stage who want structure, accountability, and clarity in their business. Whether you're brand new or years in, the Circle meets you where you are with stage-based support.
What results should I expect?
Members typically see clearer pricing, stronger client communication, more consistent bookings, and a deeper understanding of their local market. Over time, you'll build systems that reduce overwhelm and increase profitability.
How much time does this take?
Two live calls per month plus optional implementation steps. Most members spend 2–4 hours a month inside the Circle and see meaningful progress.
What if I join mid-month?
You'll receive an onboarding email with the current topic and full access to the back catalog. You're never behind — you simply begin where you are.
How are the calls structured?
Each call opens with a member win, followed by guided teaching and stage-based breakout rooms so beginners and veterans each have space to grow. Calls are focused, intentional, and designed to move your business forward.
What happens if I miss a live call?
All calls are recorded and uploaded to the member archive within 24 hours. You can watch — or rewatch — on your own schedule.
Will my founding rate change?
No. As long as you remain a member, you keep your founding rate ($37/mo or $197 / 6 months). If you cancel and rejoin later, you'll pay the current rate for new members.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Membership is month-to-month. Cancel before your next billing date and you'll keep access through the end of that period. If you rejoin later, you'll pay the current rate for new members. Archived content is not restored after cancellation.
Do I need a certain gear level or experience?
No. The Circle focuses on business strategy, not camera specs. Whether you shoot with one lens or a full kit, the principles apply.
How is this different from a Facebook group or online course?
No algorithm. No noise. No random opinions. The Circle offers live accountability, curated monthly topics, and a small cohort that actually knows your name. You'll learn how to understand your town, your market, and your local opportunities — and build a business that fits your life.
Do you help with pricing?
Yes. Pricing is one of the most common pain points for photographers, and we address it through frameworks, discussions, and real-world examples.
Do you help with marketing?
Absolutely. We focus heavily on local marketing, client experience, and brand positioning — the areas that actually move the needle for photographers.
Do you help with client communication and workflow?
Yes. From inquiry scripts to session flow to delivery timelines, we help you build a professional, repeatable client experience.
Is the community safe and drama-free?
Yes. The Circle is intentionally small, structured, and moderated. Members come to work on their business — not compete, complain, or compare.
How is feedback handled?
Feedback is optional, constructive, and stage-appropriate. You'll never be put on the spot, and you'll always receive guidance that supports your growth.
Can I get 1:1 help?
The Circle is a group program, but members receive personalized guidance during calls, breakouts, and topic discussions.
What are the monthly topics?
Topics rotate through core business pillars such as pricing, marketing, client experience, systems, local strategy, and brand positioning. Each month builds on the last.
Is there homework or implementation steps?
Yes — but they're simple, actionable, and designed to move your business forward without overwhelm.
What if I'm introverted or don't want to share?
Participation is flexible. You can listen quietly, join breakouts, or engage only when you're ready. Many photographers in the Circle are introverts.
How do I access the archive?
Your member dashboard includes all past call recordings, worksheets, and topic materials.
Is there a private community platform?
Yes — members receive access to a private space separate from social media.
Can I pause my membership?
Pausing is not available. You may cancel anytime and rejoin later at the current rate.
Do you offer refunds?
Membership is non-refundable, but you may cancel anytime before your next billing date.
What if I have a topic to suggest?
Members are encouraged to suggest topics. We review submissions and either add them to open discussions or schedule them for future months.
What makes this different from other photography memberships?
The Circle is built around clarity, accountability, and local market strategy — not generic advice. You get real business guidance, a small cohort, and a leader who understands the business side of photography at a luxury level.
